I am firmly of the opinion that collated susceptibility information, commonly referred to as an antibiogram should not be disseminated for the purpose of individual prescriber interpretation and decision making. As an expert who has utilized antibiograms to define rational empiric therapy guidelines, I am acutely aware of how difficult and ill-defined the process is. How could I possibly expect a prescriber with much less experience to do so under the duress of treating an acute infection.

    What do you think?
